Following on from her first online Pilates for Fencers class, Victoria’s next lesson will focus on the hips. The lesson will go beyond the traditional strength and conditioning exercises and provide fencers a flowing class incorporating a series of exercises which she chose and developed to challenge fencers’ neuromuscular fitness. Victoria will teach movements that explore a big range of movement and challenge stability in order to strengthen and mobilise the hips in a way that is most functional to the sport. The aim of this class is to:
- Increase the hips’ range of movement
- Stretch in a safe, effective way
- Offset muscular imbalances
- Address knee issues arising from stiff or unstable hips
If you have missed Victoria’s first class, you can contact

Victoria is a Body Control Pilates teacher with over 9 years’ experience of teaching movement. She took up fencing as a hobby over a year ago and quickly became interested in applying her knowledge of movement to the requirements of the sport so as to help her fellow fencers with injury prevention and rehabilitation. As part of her Level 4 qualification she used fencing as her case study.
Her focus is on increasing fencers’ performance by reinforcing good movement habits and improving their technical and physical fitness in a way that is most effective and efficient. Her classes will help you increase the range of movement of your hips, shoulders and spine and increase the stability of your ankles and knees. This in turn will feed into your general agility, balance and endurance!
Victoria is also keen to help setting off the muscular imbalances caused by the asymmetrical nature of the sport so as to make sure you are able to go about your daily life and enjoy your other hobbies injury and pain free.
